THOMAS FOLBER
VISUAL ARTIST
About
I am a South Australian artist and academic that works with both digital and non-digital media. Having primarily studied in photography and painting, my artistic practice has become a multidisciplinary one incorporating computational image production, video art, and digital printmaking.
Recently my creative work has been produced as part of a PhD candidature at the University of South Australia. This research employed a practice-led methodology to better understand how glitch aesthetics and processes of Remediation interact within a visual arts studio context. I am particularly interested in how the concept of 'glitch' operates across post-digital media and practices, and exploring the black boxed nature of computational technology.
